Historic Heating System Upgrade

We invite you to join us for a tour and presentation covering the innovative renovation of the mechanical system at Rocky Hill Congregational Church (See case study in The New England HVAC Insider, October 2012 edition http://hvacinsidernews.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/New-England-October-31st-2012.pdf  See page 4B).  This 1800’s 20,000 Square foot structure was heated with an oil-fired steam boiler with cast iron radiators.  The renovation included high efficiency condensing gas boilers, a transition from steam to hydronic, an increased number of control zones and automatic temperature controls. The control system optimizes system efficiency and allows the staff to schedule for events and save energ by reducing the heating requirement in unused areas of the church. This was accomplished using most of the existing radiation without disturbing the aesthetics of the original layout.  A combination of flameless piping systems was used to complete the installation, eliminating the risk of fire in this historic church during the renovations.
