Micro-turbine Power Generation Tour- Alexion Pharmaceutical
The October Technical Session will consist of a tour of the mico-turbine power plant at Alexion Pharmacutical facility, located at 352 Knotter Drive, Cheshire, CT.
The tour will consist of a walk through of the central plant to view the control system, power distribution system and interconnecting heating system. Then the tour will move up to the roof to examin the turbines,
Meet at the Mechancial Room entrance door, located at the right rear (Southeast end) side of the building. Drive past the main plant entrance and follow the road right, to the rear. Park in rear as well.
This site is a secure facitily, no cameras or photography is allowed.
This meeting will be held jointly with the Connecticut Green Building Council
Tech Session Speaker - Vincent Chiocchio, Controlled Air, CTGBC member
Mr Chiocchio is the president of Controlled Air Inc. and has been in the HVAC business for over 38 years. He is LEED AP accredited, active in LEED design buildings and is on the Board of Directors for the Connecticut Green Building Council.
Mr Chiocchio is versed in performing detailed energy modeling of buildngs, holds an S1 license, Sheet Metal Contractors license and Mechanical Contractors License and a Master 1 Pipefitters and Refrigeration license. He currently oversees the design and installation of cogenertaion and trigeneration systems, including all related steam, gas, hydronic and refrigeration systems.
